Meet the Heroes of "The Way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson

Today, I want to gush about some of the incredible characters from Brandon Sanderson’s epic novel, “The Way of Kings.” This book is packed with vibrant personalities, but let me introduce you to four of my favorites: Kaladin, Shallan Davar, Dalinar, and Szeth.

Kaladin Stormblessed

Kaladin is an absolute force to be reckoned with. He starts off as a talented surgeon turned slave, but his determination and strong moral compass make him a standout character. He’s got this amazing ability to heal and protect, which earns him the nickname “Stormblessed.” Kaladin’s journey is all about fighting against injustice and finding hope in the darkest of times.

Shallan Davar

Now, let’s talk about Shallan, the quick-witted and resourceful young woman with a knack for art. She’s on a mission to save her family and becomes entangled in a web of secrets and mysteries. Shallan is incredibly clever, and her wit adds a delightful touch of humor to the story. But don’t be fooled by her charm—she’s got hidden depths and a few surprises up her sleeve. Her character development is top-notch, and you’ll find yourself completely invested in her journey.

Dalinar Kholin

Dalinar, a highprince and a warrior, is an absolute badass. He’s a man of honor and integrity, trying to navigate a world full of politics and betrayal. Dalinar is haunted by visions and struggles to understand their meaning. But what sets him apart is his unwavering dedication to the ideals of honor and unity. His growth throughout the story is captivating, and you’ll find yourself rooting for him as he tries to shape a better world.

Szeth-son-son-Vallano

Truthless of Shinovar: Szeth is a character who’ll leave you in awe. Known as the “Assassin in White,” he possesses incredible skills with a deadly Shardblade. His presence on the page is both terrifying and intriguing. Szeth is a complex character, torn between duty and a desire for freedom. As the truth behind his actions begins to unfold, you’ll be captivated by the depth of his character and the moral dilemmas he faces.

Each of these characters brings something unique and compelling to the story. They’re flawed, relatable, and undergo tremendous growth as they face challenges, make difficult choices, and discover their true strengths. Sanderson has done an incredible job crafting these multifaceted personalities that will stick with you long after you’ve finished the book.

So, if you’re looking for a fantasy novel that delivers on amazing characters, give it a go, Kaladin, Shallan Davar, Dalinar, and Szeth. These characters will grab hold of your heart and refuse to let go. Remember, in the world of “The Way of Kings,” heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and the power of their stories can change destinies. See you next time!
